AeroToolbox.net is an aviation resource focusing on the more technical aspects of aircraft design and piloting.

Founded by Andrew Wood, an aeronautical engineer currently completing his PPL, this site aims to introduce some of the more technical aspects of aircraft design and analysis, as well as to provide the student pilot with a more in depth grounding of the theory required to pass the PPL exams (lots more of this coming in 2020!).

The site is broadly split into two sections:

a list of aerospace related calculators, including atmospheric properties, unit conversion and airfoil plotting.
the Aerotoolbox library is a technical resource of useful tutorials from wing and fuselage design to aircraft performance calculations.

If you’ve ever wondered how an aircraft is conceptualised and designed then a good place to start is the Fundamentals of Aircraft Design set of tutorials. This ten part series walks you through the design of each major aircraft component and ends with a performance analysis of a conceptual light sport aircraft.
